Users view important messages from the institution staff and
faculty on the Announcements page. The instructor can add, modify
and remove announcements from the Announcements page. This is
an ideal place to post time-sensivitve material such as:
- When assignments are due
- Changes in the syllabus
- Corrections/Clarifications of materials
- Exam schedules
Users can sort announcements by category (courses, organizations,
or institution) and post date.

When you post an announcement it will always be in a list of
all the announcements you have added to your course. If the announcement
is permanent it will always display on the announcements page,
if the announcement was posted on a certain day, it will display
for that day and for the duration of the course. However, regardless
of whether an announcement is for that particular day or if it
is permanent, it will post in the My Announcements module only
on the day it was posted.
The other option is to set the dates for the duration you want
the announcement to display. Check to make sure that if you selected
the option to restrict the dates of when the announcement will
display, that the dates are set for the time in which you want
to display the announcement.
The other, perhaps more obvious reason is that your course's
availability may not yet be set to "Available". Unavailable
courses essentially do not exist to students even though instructors
and administrators may work with them as if they were available
to students!
