A commonly asked question by faculty is where to post their course
syllabus. There are two options.
When designing your course you can make a Syllabus button
instead of "Course Information" button. To do this:
- Click on the Control Panel button on the left.
- Under "Course Options", click on Course Settings.
- Click Area Availability
- On 4)Course Documents, use the drop down arrow and
choose "Syllabus".
As the second option, you can keep the "Course Information"
button on the left and add Syllabus as a separate
folder or .html file in that section. To do this:
- Click on Control Panel on the left.
- Under "Content Areas", click on Course Documents
and add your folder.
If you choose the later, "Course Documents" could also
include:
- Grading Policies
- Office Hour Schedule
- Discussion Leader Schedule
- Frequently Asked Questions
- Exam and Quiz Schedule
In your course syllabus you might want to include:
- Background for the class
- Required Texts and where to purchase them
- Course Introduction
- Design of the Course
- Assignments
- Chats and Discussions
- Papers
- Projects
- Quizes and Tests
