I can be whoever I want to be!
This is my avatar! I think it looks just like me. Glasses, hair, pointed shoes, gray pants … and the shirt, ok, so that is a stretch. I’m working on it, give me a chance. And the attitude, PERFECT! My daughter is shocked, coworkers can’t believe it. I am sooooo excited.
I should say something intelligent here, referencing the readings for this week on virtual worlds but I have to first express how engaging virtual worlds are … so addicting. I went for a ride in a blue sports car and Ferris wheel, met an 18 year old who had a parrot (whom she killed, numerous times), danced with a bear and flew with a fox … and the adventures have only just begun.
Identity crisis? Well, I would never tell a date about this side of my personality … but who cares, on the internet you can be whoever you want to be, including your real self. I have to admit that I sometimes think about what makes a group of people want to be different avatars. Why would someone see themselves as a flying bat with rainbow wings? What’s that all about?
Honestly, I know why I created my IMVU avatar. Regardless, that is what makes these virtual worlds so exciting, more questions than answers. Well, I am off exploring … onto new and different worlds. Until next time … promise, I will be more intelligent…
