Crash Landing
March 20th, 2006 by trottahe

As I made a crash landing into these furries, I was painfully reminded how much we learn from interaction with our environment through informal learning. A forgiving group, I usually get a comment like “Nice landing newbie” as I mow down a couple of innocent forest folk. Is it that transparent that I have just “arrived” (whatever that means). I have to admit, it is taking me longer than I thought to fly and land with grace. I find myself over shooting a bench to sit on … I was so embarrassed at a fashion show. I took me a couple of tries to just sit down on the bench to watch the models. I did get a special pair of shoes from a friend. Changed my whole walk. I had to laugh at myself
.
However, who cares? It’s fun and perhaps my avatar is really the secret me but more about that later. I am having sooooooo much fun … addicting it is. I wander all over the place, listening to people’s conversations, meeting others, going to different lands, really exploring, just like I wish I had more opportunity to do in real life. I’m not sure I am “playing”. The world is a real place in a way. Last Saturday a male avatar asked me to “dance” and I really “felt” the same as I would in real life. Isn’t that crazy? Well, for my next rambling, I’ll fill you in on the virtual fashion show I was invited to. More to come this weekend. Stay “posted” …
