Philanthropy in Virtual Worlds
June 28th, 2007 by trottahe
I was so disappointed that I missed the conversation between MacArthur Foundation President Jonathan Fanton and Linden Lab CEO Philip Rosedale (aka Philip Linden), discussing how virtual worlds could revolutionize philanthropy because of another work committment but I finally found the archive!
The event took place on June 22. I’m a big fan on the MacArthur Foundation because of their work with exploring digital media in eduction. At the event, Fanton also announced that the foundation would begin a year-long investigation into virtual worlds, including making some in-world grants through the USC Annenberg Center on Public Diplomacy.
