Abby Goes to the OBGYN

I think this e-learning course is absolutely amazing.  It took me a second to get the hang of moving the character around however it did put the learner in control of the experience.  Not sure about the music though.

Finding What You Are Not Looking For

How come when you go shopping for something, you find the perfect something else that was never on your list.  I’m looking for inspiration for an set of Storyline modules I am creating for a Graduate Online Orientation.  I’m all into scenarios.  So, I came across this blog post, from awhile ago …  I love what ThinkingKap Learning has done with this tutorial however, that impressed me the most was the design of their website,

I’m Addicted

There are some people who I am absolutely addicted to online and one of those is Mike Taylor … twitterweb.  Since our focus at the university has been online course creation, it has been a challenge for me to keep my creative and my production self alive and functioning.  The only way I am finding to do this is though a network of people who have the time and he is at the top of my list.  Every moment I can steal way, I am reading what he puts out there.

He mentioned this resource for finding free images that I now use all the time.

He also has this listing of resources that are my “go-to”.

Prezi for Education

I’m working on gathering resources for our TLTC Summer Series day Stand Out in a Crowd – Effective Presentations to be held on June 30 and I came across this example of a Prezi created by Paul Hill. It is the best example of a Prezi I have seen that demonstrates how Prezi can be used for elearning or the face-2-face classroom.

All Fired Up

Since I returned from the Savannah School of Art and Design story and the user experience have been on my mind.  I have always known how important these concepts are in design and communication but they live and breath it there.  What an amazing place and an inspiration to me personally.  Typography, image, interaction are so very important but they are only the supporting actors.  This week I explored some terrific elearning modules and graphics and I really looked at them in a whole different way … evaluating the story and interactive element.     Could I identify it .. .what did it say?

There are so many design blogs out there but I came across today.  The horizontal scrolling is fresh and engaging.  The difference from the norm encouranges exploration.  It  stuck me that we never see anything similar in an educational context.  Wouldn’t this be an amazing way to present content?
